POD SPACE

The pod concept was developed by architectect Ranbir Lal in collaboration with VIVID in response to VIVID's artist research programme; it explores the possibilities of integrating production within an exhibition environment.

The two moveable pods have been designed with versatility and multi- functionality in mind. Featuring wireless imaging and audio facilities, the pods can be used individually, as smaller self contained units in which artists can develop and produce work, or in conjunction with each other and the surrounding garage environment for testing and showcasing.

Pod Launch

The first pod was successfully launched as part of Architecture Week in June 2006 as part of VIVID's habitat programme exploring creative space, 19-23 June 2006

Throughout habitat artists used the pod to do live project research and produce new work inviting the public to join them in this exciting experimental environment.
